Dentist: Graduate of Accredited Dentist Program


Dentists must complete the following to be eligible to become registered and licensed with MDA:
       a) An accredited Dental program
       b) The National Dental Examining Board (NDEB) exam
       c) A Certification in Resuscitation Program (CPR)
       d) An approved Jurisprudence and Ethics program

a) Accredited Dental Programs

Visit Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada for a list of accredited dental programs.

If your education program is not accredited, complete the registration and licensing process outlined in Dentist: Graduate of Non-Accredited Dental Program.

b) National Dental Examining Board (NDEB) Exams

You must complete the following once you have completed an accredited dental program:

  • Written Examination
  • Objective Structural Clinical Examination

c) Certification in Resuscitation Program (CPR)

You must have valid certification in resuscitation from one of these programs approved by Manitoba Health:

Criti Care EMS Incorporated
Emergency Rescue Response Service
Find First Aid
Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba
Heart Beat Inc.
Life Line ERT

Onscene First Aid & Safety
Southern Manitoba Academy of Response Training
St. John Ambulance
Surviving Link Inc.

d) Jurisprudence and Ethics Programs

You must complete a Jurisprudence and Ethics Program with one of the following MDA-approved institutions:

Dalhousie University, Halifax
McGill University, Montreal
University of British Columbia, Vancouver
University of Manitoba, Winnipeg
University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon
University of Toronto, Toronto
University of Western Ontario, London
University of Alberta, Edmonton
Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario
