Registrar’s Report
The Manitoba Dental Association is the organization authorized by statute to register and license dental assistants and dentists in the Province of Manitoba. Our enabling legislation is The Dental Association Act.
Currently we license dentists, register intra-oral dental assistants and review dental nurse therapists’ credentials who graduated from Wascana Institute (SIAST 1975-88).
54 dentists and 122 dental assistants were newly registered and licensed/certi ed with the MDA. ere are currently 735 licensed dentists (and 50 non-practicing dentists) and 1332 registered dental assistants (and 99 non-practicing assistants) in the Province of Manitoba.
As per the Dental Act, and to ensure your patients continuity of dental care, it is a member’s responsibility to inform the MDA Immediately should there be a change
in practice address, licence class, or health status which may a ect your ability to practice. Members of the public search these registries when dentists move o ces or retire. Revisions to the publlc registry and information on the registration process are ongoing. e pharmacological behaviour management public rosters and practice restrictions will be revised on an ongoing basis as required.

Please ensure that there are at least 2 scanned points per session for a half day course, and 4 scanned points for a full day course, i.e. each time you enter and leave the room for any reason, including lunch and washroom breaks.
